On Thursday evening the 2022 Pegasus World Cup hosted it’s kick off celebration. The evening began at The Historic Ward Rooming House with the unveiling of the 2022 Pegasus World Cup trophies designed by Baccarat and an exclusive viewing of “Too Black Too Fast,” a curated art exhibition that celebrates the history and contribution of African American jockeys in Thoroughbred horse racing through visual art and portraiture. Guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails provided by E11EVEN Vodka and cigars provided by Davidoff. Following the cocktail, guests made their way to Red Rooster where they enjoyed dinner and live entertainment by DJ-NICE alongside Darin Atwater and his 16 piece symphonic orchestra, Soulful Symphony.
Guests in attendance included Belinda Stronach (Chairman, Chief Executive Officer & President of 1/ST) along with other key officials from 1/ST & the Pegasus World Cup including Jason Willson, Jimmy Vargas, Tiffani Steer, Craig Farvel and Aidan Butler; Mayor of Miami-Dade County Daniella Levine Cava, artist Michael McBride, members of the Ed Brown Society including Greg Harbut, Desiree Cross, Raymond and Tiffany Daniels, Clark and Jennifer Williams and Ron and LaCoya Robinson, along with socials including Michael Gibb, Justin Bridgeman, Evan Ross, Michael Simkins, Amaris Jones, Elysze Held, Alana Radmin & David Oxfeld from Miami Marlins, and Dr. Steven & Elizabeth Resnick. Throughout the evening donations were collected to benefit T.E.E.S (Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success), an organization dedicated to empowering our youth to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of their communities. In addition, The Simkins Family Foundation, 501(c)(3), made a $25,000 donation to TEES.
